Dr. Barr graduated from Baltimore College of Dental Surgery in 1989, and then completed a General Practice Residency program at LIJ Medical Center. Prior to studying at Dental School, he attended SUNY Albany. Since he began practicing dentistry, Dr. Barr has kept up to date with many continuing educational classes, ensuring that his patients receive the most comprehensive and advanced dental care.
In addition to continuums at the Pankey Institute for Advanced Dental Education, Dr. Barr received his Fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry in July 2016, an award given to only about 6% of general dentists. This is awarded to dentists who have completed at least 500 hours of continuing education and successfully passed a nearly full day written examination.
Dr. Barr works with DentServ, a provider of dental services to nursing homes in New York. He is both the Clinical Director of the company, and a consultant dentist to numerous nursing home facilities in Westchester County. Doing so since 1990, he provides a range of dental services to the senior population at those homes. This allows for Dr. Barr to be extremely comfortable and proficient in providing dental treatment to seniors.
Dr. Barr lives in Stamford and has adult three children. His community involvement includes being an active member with their Temple, and having coached and managed in the Stamford Youth Soccer League for many years. He has served on the Board of Directors of Stamford JCC and Jewish Family Service of Fairfield County.
